The trio was created in 1996 by graduates of Trondhaim music conservatory. In 1996 it received the prize and the title “The Best young jazz performers of Norway”. “Urban Connection” is the winner of the competition “Trampline Jazz Avignon” in France (2000). In February 2001 it was touring as a rhythm-section of Trondhaim orchestra accompanying a famous pianist Chik Koria in a European tour. In a year “Urban Connection” had their own European tour. The Group was a partisipant of the “Yednist” (The Unity) jazz festival, and the winner of the “Spelemanprizen” reward (an analogus to the “Grammy” reward in Norway).
