Born in 1960
A pianist, keyboard player, composer and arranger. Valeriy began his music career in Kherson by means of playing on drums, first affords of creating pieces and mastering keyboards. Performing in different ensembles on prestigious river motor vessels gave him a very qualified education (1991-1994). In 1995 Volkov made a “silent jazz sensation” – he recorded an own debut CD in New York, performing together with recognised stars of jazz music. Valeriy’s music was performed by Michael Brecker (saxophone), Randy Brecker (trumpet) and Dave Liebman (saxophone). Since 1997 Volkov has been working in Kiev both a keyboard player and composer in recording studios, and a drummer in various groups and projects. He collaborated with Tony Guerrero (trumpet), American female singer Denise Perrier, Daniil Kramer (piano), David Goloschokin (violin and saxophone), Oleksiy Kuznetsov (guitar), Andriy Kondakov (piano) (1999-2003). Valeriy performed in the cast of the “Unity” (1999), “Kyivenegro” (2000-2001) groups, trio of Petro Pashkov (2002), Oleg Asyeev’s (2003) and the “44” groups. Also he is a participant of the trio Ivanov/Glyadetskiy/Volkov (2002-2003). Valeriy was an author of famous pieces “Loneliness”, “Through the Truth” and “Oh, Honey”. Nowadays Valeriy Volkov is working under his solo project. Discography:
