The music group “Er. J. Orchestra” was found in 1991. In fact, this was the first Ukrainian ensemble started playing synthetic music of full value. Tactful and convincing mixture of styles – academic, folk, jazz and modern improvisational – was taken as a principle. The group actively combines acoustic and electronic instruments. “Er. J. Orchestra” always was situated aside from the main “music movement” and since the beginning have achieved recognition, first of all, of progressive auditorium capable to think and create something new. Soon after recognition in Ukraine the one abroad came. The group performed concerts in Poland, Russia, Hungary, Germany, France and took part in the music festival of Ukrainian ensembles in Polish city Krakow (“Wild fields’92”).
“Er. J. Orchestra” has always been a unique creative workshop, which passed many talented musicians through itself – Andjei Pozdin (guitar, vocals), Mykola “Oakman” Dubinin (drums), Oleksander Blinov (vibraphone), Dmytro Solovyov, Viktor Melezhik, Dmytro Markitanov (saxophones), Sergiy Hmelyov (percussion). Group is always under the work control of a visual effects specialist, artist, photographer and director Oleksander Didrovskiy. Concerts of the Group are always converted into colourful spectacles due to the many-sided talent of its leader – a composer, arranger, pianist, flutist, writer and publicist Oleksiy Oleksandrov. Well-known musicians, such as an American pianist Chris Jerret and Russian althorn player Arkadiy Shilkloper, collaborate with the “Er. J. Orchestra”.
Nowadays “Er. J. Orchestra” is finishing mastering its new album, which is planned to be published in autumn 2003.
