Born in 1945

A pianist, keyboard player, composer, arranger and teacher. V’yacheslav is a representative of Lviv jazz school and in the same time a brilliant academic pianist. He was the first person in Ukraine who was conferred as an Honoured person of Art in jazz nomination. V’yacheslav is a teacher of the National university of culture and art and an author of more than 150 theatre performances. In the 1970s-80s he was a participator of a well-known piano duo “Bon’-Polyanskiy”, the first Ukrainian duo to perform classic pieces in tactful and colourful arrangements. He is a participant of many jazz competitions in Ukraine and abroad, and an author of numerous solo piano jazz programmes. Since he left for Kiev in 2000, V’yacheslav has been playing ia a duo with his son Timur. Also he directs several music ensembles. In 1999 there was published a book “Regtime of our life” (by Y.Chernyavskiy) devoted to Polyanskiy’s artistic life.

In recent years he has been performing a lot, teaching and writing a book about jazz pianists for children and youth. Also V’yacheslav collaborates with a female singer Natalya Gura.
