Born in 1966

A jazz accordionist, arranger and a leader of jazz groups. Kostyantin began his career in Mariupol’, and took part in several Ukrainian jazz festivals in Kriviy Rig, Sumy, Nicopol, Simferopol and Yalta. Since 2000 he has been living and working in Kiev. From time to time Kostyantin performs as an guest invited in different jazz ensembles. He performs jazz standards and music which contains elements of Ethnic and “New age” styles. Kostyantin created his own jazz trio with Volodymyr Sorochenko (bass-guitar) and Olexandr Beregovskiy (percussion) in 2001, and took part in several interesting programmes in Kiev club “Dynamo Lux” and in numerous “jams”. Also he created versions of two well-known jazz pieces - “Rue de Rendezvous” and “Widow’s Walk”. Kostyantin had a great success playing with the trio on the jazz festival “The Unity” (2002). Strelchenko’s performing was highly appreciated by a famous jazz accordionist Rishar Galliano.
