The “Zebra” was created by a famous Crimean musician Marlen Mamut Izmail-ogly, or simply Marlen, in 2000. He performs on accordion, keyboards, also makes interesting modern arrangements. The main aim of the “Zebra” lies in popularising national music of different countries, folk music which is “dressed” by the Group’s cast in a modern sound “clothes”, with power and fashionable sound. Such a music style today is considered to be the most prospective one, and it has already got a qualify name – “world beat”. “Zebra” took part is several music festivals, and its performance on the art-folk festival in Kiev’s club “44” in march 2003 became a real sensation.
