Born in 1967
A well-known jazz guitarist. Sergiy was born in Kramatorsk, and since 1980 has been living in Kiev. He was a graduate of Kyiv music secondary school named by Glier (1993) and a student of Oleksandr Kolontyrskiy. Sergiy created his first group in 1995 and then recorded first solo CD. In 1997 he renovated the Group’s cast and began performing witn musicians of his own quartet – Vadim Medvid’ (bass-guitar), Vitaliy Ivanov (saxophone), Sergiy Tabunshik (drums). Sergiy is a participant of numerous jazz festivals in Ukraine, Russia, Poland. As a guitarist he performed in “The Fest” group (1999-2001) and in a famous jazz quintet of Juriy Shepeta (1998-2002). Sergiy is an author of a big amount of original pieces, and one of them named “The Blue Dress” got among the ten best ballads on a Belgium radio (1999). Also he took part in creation and recording of numerous programmes – “I Love Brasil”, “Bluse That So Differs”, “The Chance”, “Memories of Bee-pop”, “Dedication to Bill Evance”, “Pete Methini Music”, “The Beatles in Jazz”. From time to time Sergiy collaborates with soloists and groups of differrent music genres. He took part in recording of the CD of Galina Tolchanova. Nowadays Sergiy performs in a music group “Hata”.
