Born in 1974

A pianist, keyboard player, composer and arranger. Ivanov graduated from Donetsk conservatory. He is a son of a well-known Ukrainian jazz musician Serhiy Ivanov. Ivanov is among the leaders of a music group “Unity” (the issue “Unity & Gaitana”), a member of numerous festivals in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, France. At the same time he combines working in the “Unity” with playing with other musicians. Ivanov is one of the best pianists and keyboard players in Ukraine, and a talented composer. He took part in the project of Yuriy Shepeta “I love Brasil” (1999). Also Rodion Ivanov was a leader of his own quartet of musicians (1999-2000), a participant of a famous jazz-group “Kyivenergo”. He collaborates and makes records with Tony Guerrero (trumphet), Valeriy Volkov (keyboards and drums), Maksim Gladetskiy and Serhiy Makarov (bass-guitar). Ivanov presented Ukraine on the III-rd International competition of young pianists named by Martial Solal in Paris (2002), and took part in a well-known Kyiv trio “Ivanov/Gladetskiy/Volkov”.
