Born in 1957 in Kyiv.

Oleksiy Kogan graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Culture and Art with a degree in the Music Bibliography. He has defended a diploma thesis on the topic: “Foreign Music of the XIX century”.

In 1991 Oleksiy began his professional career at the Broadcast companies. He has worked at the Promin, Continent, Nostalgie radio stations. Nowadays he is working at the Super Nova radio station. Oleksiy is an art-director of the Lemma publishing house. He produced numerous music albums of Ukrainian jazz performers.

Oleksiy Kogan is a Ukrainian representative in the European Jazz Federation.

Since November, 2002 he has entered the world-famous Jazz Journalists’ Association.
